FAQ
Are all items authentic?
Yes. Every item sold through Maison Kahn is authenticated and condition-graded before listing. Luxury goods are verified against manufacturer standards. Manuscripts and rare books are described using standard antiquarian conventions.
How does purchasing work?
Items available for direct purchase have a "Purchase" button that takes you to a secure Shopify checkout. Higher-value pieces may be listed as inquiry-only — use the inquiry form or email to arrange a private viewing and transaction.
Can I see an item in person before buying?
Yes. Contact us to arrange a viewing. We are based in Philadelphia and can meet at a mutually convenient location for in-person inspection of any piece.
What is your returns policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for items in their original condition. Items marked "Final Sale" are not eligible for return. See our full returns policy for details.
What does "Final Sale" mean?
Items tagged as final sale are sold as-is and cannot be returned or exchanged. These are typically priced to reflect this condition. The final sale designation is clearly marked on the product page.
How are items shipped?
All items are shipped insured via tracked carrier. Books and manuscripts are packed with archival materials. Luxury goods ship in protective packaging appropriate to the item. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
Do you buy items?
Selectively. If you have luxury goods, rare books, or manuscripts you wish to sell, contact us with a description and photographs. We are particularly interested in medieval facsimiles, fine press editions, literary first editions, and Hermès or Louis Vuitton pieces in excellent condition.
What is the Equipment section?
Equipment listings are tools and instruments from the house’s own use — bought for our work, kept in excellent condition, and offered at a fair price when no longer needed. Single owner, no middlemen.
